Hyderabad Foundation

HFUSA is a volunteer-run and donor-supported non-profit organization registered as a public charity with IRS under Section 501(c)(3) and your donations are eligible for tax exemption in the USA. Our EIN is 81-0896655. Donors can deduct contributions they make to HFUSA under IRC Section 170.

Hyderabad Foundation USA is also registered with corporate gift matching programs. If your company’s gift matching program is not listed here, please contact us to get us matched.

As a volunteer organization, the HFUSA's overhead expenses are less than 1% of the amount collected in donations. Thus, more than 99% of the funds are sent to the deserving recipients as charity and zakat.

Stock Donation

Hyderabad Foundation USA Inc can accept donations in the form of stock.

When you a redeem a stock that has increased in value, you must pay capital gains tax on the profit you’ve made. Donation of your stock to Hyderabad Foundation USA allows you avoid this tax, while support our causes.

Note: Capital gains avoidance only applies to stocks that have been held for more than 1 year. For this reason, we encourage donors to donate stocks they’ve had at least one year and avoid donating stock owned for less than one year.

For the sake of the charitable organization, it’s always best to donate a stock that trades on a public exchange because other stocks or assets are more complex security sales. Privately held stocks or restricted shares of public stocks are not ideal for charitable donations.
